Minor League Baseball has always been about more than just balls and strikes. It’s about community, connection, and creating lifelong memories. Nowhere is that truer than at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium—a place that holds deep meaning for so many in Frederick, including me and my growing family.
When I first joined the Frederick Keys, I knew I was stepping into something special. This stadium isn’t just where baseball is played, it’s where life happens. From kids chasing foul balls to grandparents sharing hot dogs with their grandkids under the summer sun, it’s a place where memories are made every single night.
As a husband and a new father, the ballpark has taken on a whole new meaning. My wife, Ellen, and I welcomed our daughter just four months ago, and while she’s still too young to understand what’s happening on the field, she’s already part of the Keys family. We’ve brought her to games, introduced her to the staff, and watched her take in the colors, the music, and the energy of the crowd with wide-eyed curiosity. Experiencing the stadium through her eyes has reminded me just how special this place really is—not just for fans, but for families.
There’s something beautiful about watching families and generations grow up at this stadium. I’ve met fans who came here as children and now bring kids of their own. We’ve had first pitches thrown by nervous Little Leaguers who later join us as summer interns. I’ve seen birthdays celebrated, proposals made, and generations come together over the simple joy of baseball.
At Nymeo Field, it’s never just about the final score. It’s about what happens in between—the laughter during dizzy bat races, the cheers during fireworks, the quiet moments of connection in the stands. It’s about being present, together, without the distractions of the outside world.
As General Manager, I take tremendous pride in making this ballpark a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone. But as a dad, it means even more. I want my daughter to grow up knowing the magic of summer nights here. I want her to feel the joy of community, the importance of teamwork, and the warmth of a place that values people above all else.
Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, I hope you feel what we feel every time we walk through the gates: that Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium isn’t just our team’s home, it’s your family’s home, too.
